About Fellowship (FACP®)

Fellowship is an honor achieved by those recognized by their peers for personal integrity, superior competence in internal medicine, professional accomplishment, and demonstrated scholarship. It may be achieved by either advancement from full membership or by direct election. The Credentials Committee approves and formally “elects” the candidates on behalf of the Board of Regents with their input.Fellowship recipients are authorized to use the letters “FACP” in connection with their professional activities so long as their membership remains current. Candidates submit an application and supporting materials, which are reviewed by the appropriate ACP Governor and the College’s Credentials Committee.
